Qualification of sensory wires for detecting stress conditions and development of an evaluation unit

The R&D project Smile Beam aims to develop a sensored, lightweight load securing element (loading or locking beam) for the transport sector. The Smile Beam is designed as a geometry and material-optimized pultrusion profile made of fiber-reinforced plastic. The innovative core of the development is the integration of wire-shaped sensors directly in the production process. The evaluation electronics to be developed by FiberCheck are used for transparent load securing with regard to the detection and visualization of overloading, asymmetrical loading and discarding.
