FunPul

Inline functionalisation of pultruded profiles

In the project, the partners are developing a mechanically functionalised lightweight profile for rail vehicle construction and a sensor-functionalised lightweight element for rotor blades in wind turbines. The functionalisation of fibre-reinforced plastic composites is achieved on the one hand by integrating metal inserts and on the other hand by embedding sensor elements for component monitoring. The functional extensions achieved are accompanied by an increased degree of lightweight construction and CO2 savings potential.

Sub-project: Technological development for the integrative production of sensorised bridge detectors for wind turbines using the pultrusion process

Project partners: Hörmann Vehicle Engineering GmbH, Limbacher Oberflächenveredelung GmbH, Maus GmbH Modell- und Formenbau, Modespitze Plauen GmbH, Fraunhofer Institute for Machine Tools and Forming Technology IWU, Huntsman Advanced Materials

Funding programme of the Federal Ministry of Science and Research: Technology Transfer Programme for Lightweight Construction (TTP Lightweight Construction)
